The ranking of hands in poker is determined by the value of each card. The following are the rankings from lowest to highest:

High Card – This hand will win if there are no better hands available and you have not folded. A high card can be any card that has a rank higher than two, such as an ace or king.

One Pair – You have one pair when you have a matching set of cards with different ranks, which means you have two or three cards with the same rank (e.g., 5s).

A flush is when you have five cards that are all the same suit, a straight is where they are in sequential order but not all the same suit, three-of-a-kind and two pair. The probability for each hand will depend on what suits you get dealt and how many cards there are in your hand. For example: if you have an ace, king and queen of hearts then it would be statistically more likely to obtain a straight than a flush because only one other heart is required for this hand to become a flush whereas three hearts would be needed for the other type of hand to form.
